I am not into authoritarianism. Believe it or not, one person can do it all on their own. But when everyone has to jump on board with all of your ideas, I can’t go there.
If you don’t want me around, I don’t want to be around. The silver lining is there are other things to do, and there are always reruns, and a fast forward button.
I also think that if people are wondering why they can’t find an article on the topic they are interested in, that means they need to start writing! It is like a sign!
I am anti-authoritarian; I guess that means I am a Libertarian.
Therefore, I will criticize the Gain of Function mentality because all it does is create fear and prevent people from openly discussing their doubts of any deadly novel virus, in particular COVID. And I will critique individuals who propagate fear because it leads to authoritarianism
I don’t believe authoritarianism is going anywhere. People can’t see it right in front of them, so how could it ever be countered? It has only gotten worse since we started a public school system. But I wouldn’t know; that was just my experience. I think I was not a great student because I was not born a slave. I was born free. And I am still free. Free in my mind!
I don’t know if I ever finished reading this book, but I think if I did not, maybe I should. Perhaps I need to read it again. I am leaving you with a quote from Breaking Free of the Co-dependency Trap By Barry K. Weinhold, PhD, and Janae B. Weinhold, PhD.1
Quote: “The two prevailing definitions of freedom are (1) freedom from some kind of bondage and (2) freedom from freedom itself - that is, recognition that freedom is an illusion, something that doesn’t exist. The medical approach offers a deterministic view that claims it’s impossible to use your free will to change your co-dependent behaviors.
Our developmental definition of freedom stresses self-awareness. True freedom comes from within, and not from without." True freedom cannot be achieved by focusing on the social ills outside you. To be free, you must first focus on the psychological ills that exist inside you. By becoming more aware of your inner life and identifying why you act and react the way you do in certain situations, you can begin to master the forces that control you and keep you from feeling free. The more aware you become of early trauma in your childhood, and the more you recognize how it controls your life, the more freedom you will experience in your life.” end quote
Here is Cat Power singing "You Are Free”
, at the time she was suffering as an alcoholic, but I think she has now broken free. I hope so!
Freedom is something that only we can give away. It is also something we must hang onto.

Agree agree agree. Interesting, too, as I read the quote by Barry Weinhold(?) Is that it reads like Ayn Rand in Selfishness is a Virtue...
