MONEY TALKS
Many people felt that lockdown was a positive experience because it was like a vacation.
Dear Senator ________,
In the past two years, we have been told that lockdowns, masks, censorship, and other measures were necessary because, according to science, they would save lives.
In order to facilitate the lockdown, Canada instituted the CERB. One of the main detriments to CERB was that, similar to bribery, recipients were less likely to take any interest in discussions around the lack of science supporting lockdowns or other measures because they felt they were not harmed economically by the lockdowns.
Many people felt that lockdown was a positive experience because it was like a vacation.
A universal basic income has the potential to repeat this same parasitic relationship. It is a mechanism that will clearly undermine our democratic values by stifling debate and discouraging engagement on important issues. This notion encourages an illusion that the government knows best.
I ask that you take a stand for democracy and vote no to Bill S-233.
Sincerely,
Renée
