Dear Premier Tim Houston and Dr. Strang,
This letter concerns the state of emergency in Nova Scotia.
In an emergency we need communication not fear. Communication is only possible when we allow everyone to speak. In the past two years we have seen many people bullied, and censored when they did not support the restrictions implemented by the government.
Some restrictions may have been beneficial but by implementing them without allowing for discussion, what have we lost? Early on the Great Barrington Declaration was written and signed by doctors, scientists, and regular people all over the world. I signed it too. Immediately it was harshly criticized and accused of being nefarious.
We have since learned because of a Freedom of Information request that health officials in the US sent emails to try to defame the authors of this declaration. Francis Collins of the NIH wrote regarding the declaration “there needs to be a quick and devastating published take down of its premises.”
The government needs to acknowledge more thoroughly the risk factors associated with COVID. This information would be valuable to people. It would help them to see that being more mindful of the foods they eat, and spending more time exercising could help them to survive COVID.
When you (Premier and Doctor) are offering communication about COVID-19 on YouTube it would be helpful if at least 25% of the time was spent discussing risk factors and preventative medicine. Other topics that would be useful are early treatment, re-purposed drugs, vitamins, nutrients, and inclusive dialogue where vaccine free people are respected in their choice of treatment.
Sincerely,
Renee
