Doubt About Who Is a Hero
Why do some people seem to waste so much time exaggerating certain unimportant aspects of this situation?
I used to think that gain of function was really important. But the reason why was very superficial. And I always had a nagging question inside which was, if COVID is not very dangerous and is only dangerous to people who are already almost dead, then why does it matter?

I even wrote a letter to the newly elected Premier of Nova Scotia where I brought the topic of censorship up and referred to the Lab Leak being censored online. Here is a short quote from that letter which I sent on August 24th of 2021:
By labeling some information as misinformation, it allows powerful groups of people to decide what is thought to be true and vice versa. Last year when the pandemic started, Facebook would not allow anyone to talk about the possibility that this virus was leaked from a virus lab in Wuhan. Now it is a topic that is allowed. This is a clear indication that having censorship on the topic of COVID-19 is very dangerous.
Looking back on this letter I realized that the way I wrote this, in no way implied that I believed that COVID was released from a virus lab in Wuhan.
As I mentioned earlier the reason that I thought it might be a scary virus, gain of function, released from a lab was for superficial reasons. The superficial reasons are that other people were talking about it. And they were talking about it a lot. And even when it was being censored it got a lot of attention. So my thinking was that if they are talking about this so much and it is being censored then it must be true. And who knows what is true? Does it matter?
Since then I have realized that maybe it does matter what we give our attention to, and what questions we ask. Because if we spend so much time asking the wrong questions then there are people in the background taking advantage of that. It is what JJ Couey from
calls the Scooby Doo.So we spend all this time talking about a Lab Leak of a virus. And it was an engineered virus so that is extra scary right. Meanwhile we forget to talk about what actually happened in 2020 and 2021. Let me spell this backwards for you.

So now I feel that one of the most important things we can do is to try to ask the right questions and not be swayed by superficial actors. And that is what I am trying to do.
If you liked this post, leave a heart. Say something nice in the comments section and subscribe. I will keep trying to ask the right questions.
And I do listen to others who I think are asking the right questions. Instead of what I was doing at the beginning of COVID. At the beginning of COVID I latched on to anything that was saying no. I see that was an error now. We need to begin thinking strategically.

If gain-of-function is real, they can say «mistakes were made», maybe designate a fall guy or two, and keep running the gravy train.
If gain-of-function is trash, then all those billions have been spent on a pie in the sky.
The number of person-years the world has spent on «bioweapons research» is now likely ~two orders of magnitude bigger than the US spent on Manhattan project. If «covid» didn't happen, sooner or later people would start asking «guys, but where is the bomb?».
I'm not saying the bomb isn't there... but they've got all the incentives to pretend it's much bigger than it actually is.
